What it is:

The MystiCup celebrates the most creative, welcoming, immersive, and downright fun room party at MystiCon.


This award exists to encourage fandom magic, late-night bonding, themed chaos, and the kind of parties people talk about for years.

Winning the MystiCup earns you bragging rights, eternal glory, two free passes the following year and of course…the MystiCup!!

How to Compete for the MystiCup

1. Register Your Room Party

All room parties must be officially registered with MystiCon. Register *Here*. Parties can be Friday night, Saturday night, or both.
Registered parties will be listed online and on the Room Party schedule at Registration.

2. Be Open to All Attendees

MystiCup eligible parties must be open to all badged attendees.
If the door is open, the vibe should be welcoming.

3. Party Location

All parties must take place in an actual hotel room on floors 3, 4 & 5 on the designated party wing (rooms #30 and above)

No hallways.
No lobbies.
No summoning circles in the stairwells.

4. Alcohol Rules

If alcohol is present:

  • IDs must be checked
  • No one under Virginia’s legal drinking age of 21 will be allowed in the room party
  • No selling alcohol or collecting tips

All hotel, local, and state laws apply.

5. Noise + Courtesy

Keep noise at a reasonable level.
Respect the hotel, fellow attendees, and MystiCon staff.

6. Decorate Responsibly

Themes, decor, lighting, and props are encouraged.
Fire-marshal-approved chaos only.

7. All Mysticon Policies Apply

Voting for the MystiCup

  • One vote per person
  • Valid badge number required
  • Votes may be cast by dropping paper ballot in the ballot box at registration or by scanning the QR code posted at the convention.

Attendees vote for the party that best captures:

  • Creativity
  • Hospitality
  • Theming
  • Pure MystiCon Energy
  • Or just wherever you had the most fun!

Award Announcement

The MystiCup winner will be announced during the Closing Ceremonies and celebrated on MystiCon social media and the website.
