Each year, MystiCon hosts a Scholarship Auction to help remove barriers for students who want to learn, create, and participate in our shared fandom community.
Through donated items and the generosity of our attendees, the auction directly funds the MystiCon Scholarship. This scholarship supports a high school senior or college freshman whose curiosity, creativity, and passion deserve encouragement and opportunity.

About the MystiCon Scholarship
The MystiCon Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who demonstrates creativity, initiative, and a love of learning. The goal is simple: help make experiences like MystiCon more accessible to those who might not otherwise be able to attend or participate fully.
The scholarship is funded through sponsorship of B&D Comic Shop and the Scholarship Auction, with all proceeds supporting the recipient.
This is one of the ways MystiCon invests back into the community that makes this event possible.
The Baroness Award
In memory of Terry Baucom
The MystiCon Scholarship is proudly presented as The Baroness Award, honoring the life and legacy of Terry Baucom.
Terry, owner of B&D Comics, was a passionate supporter of MystiCon and a champion of creativity, community, and fandom. Her generosity and love of imaginative spaces continue through this award, which supports young people who share those same values.
The Baroness Award ensures that Terry’s spirit of encouragement and inclusion remains a living part of MystiCon.
How the Auction Works
- Auction items are donated by creators, fans, vendors, and community partners
- Bidding takes place during MystiCon
- Items may include signed books, artwork, collectibles, and unique experiences
- All proceeds go directly to the MystiCon Scholarship
